Efe Egborge, UK

Global EHS Manager

Efe Egborge is a Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability Professional, who has worked globally, in challenging and high-risk environments in the Subsea Engineering (Oil and Gas) and Manufacturing sectors.  

Efe graduated from the University College London (UCL), with a Masters degree in Environment and Sustainable Development and is NEBOSH certified in fire safety and occupational safety & health. She is a qualified HSE Incident Investigator and Lead Auditor in the Quality and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, respectively). Efe is trained in Lean Manufacturing Principles, which she integrates in her day to day job. Efe is currently undertaking an MBA programme in Strategic Leadership, at the University of Portsmouth, UK.

Over the years, Efe has extensively worked on HSE and sustainability cultural change management initiatives, which have yielded positive results in organisational HSE performance within relatively short periods of time.  She has set up HSE management systems to international standards for various worksites in different countries, such as; Ghana, Nigeria, Angola and the UK, leading to their ISO certification. She leads projects to ensure that HSE risk minimisation and opportunities for improvements are achieved.

Efe is self-motivated with an ability to be forward-looking and future oriented in the ideas she initiates, develops and implements. She believes in empowering others through coaching. She loves travelling and enjoys the uniqueness of each human being.

Lucía García-Linares, has been the Head of HSEQ for Toyota Motor Europe in Vehicle Finished Logistics since 2013, both in the Transportation Area but also in the installation of accessories in our different Logistics Centers in Europe operating in Spain, UK, Sweden, Belgium, France, Turkey and Czech Republic. During that time, Lucía has lead with her team the transformation of the Safety Mindset in this Industry through a strong teamwork Toyota x Logistics Providers.

Since July’20, Lucía has taken over the responsibility of “One Logistics”, looking over all the common areas within the entire supply chain (Parts and Vehicles) where Safety is one the key areas.

Driven by passion, commitment and strong ownership and under the Toyota Way values of Respect and Continuous Improvement, Lucía’s energy is always focused on what we can do in a better way, where Safety remains always the number 1 Priority.

Ana Ferreira Tavares, PT

Ana's background is an environmental master's and a safety degree. She has been working in the challenging Environment, Health, and Safety field for two decades. Several significant projects have helped to understand that hopefully, we can make a difference in the regions where the company operates.

Ana is very proud of the EHS team's achievements. Nevertheless, there is a clear consciousness that a long journey is ahead of us. Ana is developing a more robust and inspired method to become closer to the ninety sites for the business unit, where she serves in order to embrace our sustainability challenges with effectiveness and real improvements.

2020 is definitively an unprecedented year, enhancing pandemic protocol, implementing effective measures to protect employees at the workplace and maintain business delivery commitment with the customers. Engineer, Safety Geek, Leader, Manager, Consultant - elements of all these have helped Colin to help others and help make the skies safer, from almost 20 years in the Fleet Air Arm, to over 5 years as a Consultant with Baines Simmons, and more recently as the Group Safety Director Thomas Cook and Director of Safety and Security at Flybe, Colin sees his role as supporting and enabling others to make every day in aviation a little safer and more resilient than the day before. A true believer that people deliver safe operations rather than processes – his focus is on how to simplify and bring safety to life so that it becomes part of daily conversation, rather than something that is measured and managed as a process.

Debjyoti Chowdhury, IN

An astute Environment, Health & Safety professional & thought leader - passionate towards establishing and sustaining EHS Management Systems in the organization, Debjyoti is an academically qualified Mechanical Engineering graduate, with a Masters in Environmental Engineering and specialization in Occupational Health and Safety Management. 

His professional journey dates back to 12 years from now; with an experience that spans across several industries that includes Integrated Steel, Thermal Power, Ground Transportation Systems, IT/ITES & Retail.

He presently works with KAS Group Asia (the sourcing entity of the Australian retail chains, K-Mart & Target) as 'Regional Health, Safety and Wellness Manager, Asia'.

With demonstrated abilities in leading HSE programs and change management across a range of products, people, and services establishing a sustained culture, he specializes in risk control programs, incidents & crisis management, training & development, audits & investigations.

He has also participated in various national and international knowledge-sharing forums representing organizations worked for. His interests are making industry connections, benchmarking with peer industries on relevant aspects, and being abreast of the whereabouts in the area of HSE.

Andrea Bionda, CH

Global Head of Sustainability & HSE - Grid Integration

In line with his deep personal commitment to protecting the planet and the people, Andrea considers Sustainability the North Star of modern businesses. Being it the broad container for health & safety, environment, human rights, and social responsibility, “sustainability” has been the fil rouge of his entire career.

For the last 15 years, Andrea has had the opportunity to work with all the main players of the global energy scenario, like Hitachi-ABB, General Electric, Alstom, and Siemens, and grow as a leader. He took progressively increasing responsibilities in the Sustainability area, from managing it on large scale construction projects to leading the function in global organizations and businesses.

After years spent across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Andrea moved to Switzerland in 2013. Currently, he is the “Global Head of Sustainability and HSE” at Hitachi ABB Power Grids - PGGI.

Tim Briggs, UK

Tim Briggs is a Past President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). He has been involved with IOSH in many different roles. Tim was employed at Leeds Beckett University as the Course Director for the BSc Hons Safety Health and Environmental Management Degree, the Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health and MSc in Occupational Safety and Health until retirement through ill health in 2020. He has since returned on a part time basis, to assist the University using his knowledge, experience, and skills to deliver teaching. He has acted as an external examiner and external advisor to many Universities in the UK and worldwide in helping develop advanced Health and Safety courses. His wide involvement in developing Safety Practitioner knowledge and skills in the international arena has allowed Tim to work and develop Health and Safety courses not only in Singapore but also in Malaysia and Hong Kong. Tim has spoken at many international events on his favorite topic of helping organizations develop whilst keeping the workforce safe. He is a graduate of Huddersfield, Nottingham Trent University, and Leeds Beckett University.
